Weaving a Greener Future
Our Sustainable Philosophy
Tradition is Inherently Sustainable
Long before "sustainability" became a global trend, the weavers of Odisha were practicing it. At Odisha Fabrics, we believe that true luxury lies in products that respect the Earth. Handloom weaving is a zero-carbon process, relying on human skill and rhythmic precision rather than heavy machinery and electricity.
Our Earth-Friendly Practices
Our weavers use 100% natural cotton and mulberry/tussar silk, which are biodegradable and breathable.
We use vegetable and organic dyes derived from roots, bark, and minerals for all our Kotpad , selected designs of Sambalpuri and khandua collections.
We encourage the upcycling of handloom remnants into beautiful accessories and home decor.
The Human Element
Sustainability isn't just about the environment; it’s about people. By sourcing directly from weavers across odisha, we ensure:
- Fair Wages: Direct payment to our weavers.
- Preservation of Art: Keeping ancient patterns alive.
- Community Growth: Supporting the rural economy of Odisha.
